ABOUT ME
Aspiring Genealogist
Hello, my name is Nafari Jelani. I was born on Oct 4, 1986 and was raised in Chesapeake, VA. I graduated from Oscar F. Smith High School in 2005 and since then have enrolled in Ashford University where i worked on my Bachelors in Supply Chain Management. I joined the United States Air Force on April 11, 2006 and retired as of May 20, 2020. After joining the military i met my wife Victoria and we have three wonderful boys together.
I have developed a passion for genealogy ever since i started researching my family history back in October 2013. My ancestry extends back to NE North Carolina and SE Virginia. In doing such research, i learned many great things about my family history and have spread the knowledge to my family who enjoys hearing what i have found. I believe that everyone should know where they came from because i have realized that it's not just about me but it's about the future. My children and even their children can know their ancestry easily by looking into our family history scrapbook. Breaking through brick walls is not an easy task but it is not impossible to do if you have the patience and commitment.
It is my dream to become a certified genealogist so i will pursuit my vision full time when the time comes.
In this day an age, i believe that it is very important to know who you are and where you came from and so should you. Let's get started.
